My favorite Tarot decks right now are The New Palladini Tarot and my DruidCraft decks. I am currently thinking of getting the Osho Zen deck and the Gilded as well. {Yes.. I am all over the place}.

So then, the Druid Animal Oracle art may well appeal. Also the Green Man Tree Oracle is another one of Will Worthington's.

There's also the Celtic Messages round oracle by Joules Taylor. That's a good little deck IMO. It's all very positive though....but not sugary positive. Like a lot of oracle decks.

I don't really like 'dark' things like Gothic, vampires, cats, etc. I actually love cats.. just not on cards. :D

Madame Endora strikes me as a bit scary.... :D

I really like anything Victorian, bright rich colors, etc.

So I see why you like the Victorian Flower Oracle. It is very pretty and I have found it especially good for 1 card draws. Of the Lenormand decks then, the older ones are pretty like this http://www.lenormand.eu/lenormand-cards-blue-owl.php and you can get one with verses too like this http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/lenormand-fortune-telling/. This is the Mystical http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/mystical-lenormand/ which I think you might also like.

There's also Italian Sibilla or Sybilla cards, along similar lines.

I have a couple (Lenormand, Sibilla) but don't read with them much as they seem to be more used for very predictive readings which aren't my thing. Like with playing cards, from whence they came. If I do use them for readings I use them more like I would a tarot deck and think 'metaphor'.

I also don't like all positive messages nor all negative. I think that is why I love Tarot so much.

Then I'd steer clear of Doreen Virtue ;) and most of the angel related decks I can think of off the top of my head - very very positive... someone may know a different in print one that is more balanced????

You might find my "Deck of Shadows" fits your requirements.

Take a look at:

Just a thought. Enjoy. - Scott Grossberg

Thanks Scott! I looked at the site and from the cards that I saw.. they look really neat. I usually like color, but these cards look to be well done.
I also like the price, which includes shipping?

Do you have a place where we can see the individual cards? I like looking at the cards before buying. I am sure some of the artists aren't sure about doing that, but it helps to know what they look like. I thought I would like the Quest Tarot, but the Death card I didn't know about. It gives me the creeps as it reminds me of Death and of it "jumping out at you".
It sits unused.

Anyway... thank you so much for giving the link and letting us know about them!

You would think, but I am not sure about the animal thing. I will definitely check them out though. I have actually heard someone talking about the Green Man Oracle, but I haven't personally seen it.

That is funny. lol I think they are too cute to be scary. Maybe that is what scares you about them? lol

My first thought was that it would only be good for a one card draw/reading. Then I looked at the cards. I actually just did an exchange with someone using those and they did a GREAT job of a spot on reading! I was really surprised. I think that is what sold me on those.

I do like some of those cards. I will definitely be checking more into them. It appears that I may be getting more than one oracle deck!

I usually only do predictive readings so those would probably draw me more than the ones that aren't. I have hesitated on the Osho Zen Tarot because I have heard that it is more subtle and more 'touchy feeling " then giving direct readings/advice. I don't need to do a reading to know that I can mediate on something. :D

I was surprised when I joined this site and realized that some people didn't do predictive readings or readings about 'couples". {like if a gf/bf wanted a reading on their partner too}.

I just love this site! I have learned so many new things already. I have found some great spreads on spirit lessons, spirit guides, how to connect better to Tarot/etc. I even found some spreads in the spreads section on health and how to better oneself. Those are all very good things to know.

I was thinking the same thing, but if there are times when one would need all positive.. then it is good to know {or avoid}.

Thanks so much Aerin for all of your help, links, etc. There are just so many different oracles out there.. just like with Tarot. I am surprised everyday by the amount of things I haven't heard of.

I have made a decision on atleast ONE oracle .. lol

After doing a reading exchange with someone using their Victorian Flower Oracle... I am totally sold on it! It was an amazing reading! I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to do actual readings like I do with Tarot, but I was pleasantly surprised that one can.

So.. I went ahead and ordered those from Amazon! I was going to order a second deck/oracle, but I am still deciding on that one. I want to research more before buying another one.

I am wondering.. would the Osho Zen Tarot be considered an oracle?

It's a tarot, definitely, and all tarots can be considered oracles really but it has a definite Tarot structure. Unlike the Rune Tarot which departs and whih is more an oracle really. You can use oracles just like Tarot, spreads and all so whichever way you use one you can translate to the other.

Osho Zen works really well for personal development type readings, I do dislike its take on swords. Basically thinking in this deck is always a negative thing so it is biased IMO.

Have you looked at the Fantastical Menagerie tarot???? That is beautiful and works as a tarot http://baba-store.com/index.php?target=categories&category_id=178 and it is still available in kit form from baba.

Also what about the Little Czech Oracle http://baba-store.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=30157 as I have heard that can be very accurate.

I hope you find what you like.

I am going to second the suggestion of Celtic Messages. It's not sugary positive, but it is very good to help you find the positive in situations.

The cards are round, brightly coloured borders, and wonderfully illustrated images. I would swear by them. I'm no good at explaining things, but these cards are truly wonderful. :)

Thanks for reminding me of this deck. I saw it in Barnes and Noble recently. Should have snagged it then. Couldn't remember the name.

Not a problem. I've only got one other oracle deck that I use on a regular basis, for now anyway! ;)

It's one that I've loved since the first time I saw the cards (somebody I used to know had the deck), and when I got my own copy. Oh the TINGLES! :D

Thanks for the info! I was kinda wondering about the Osho Zen Tarot being more for personal development readings too. I read some reviews that said that it was more like some 'ideas" as opposed to direct things you should do, etc. I like some of the cards though. lol

I don't like the Fantastical Menagerie tarot because of using animals instead of people. I think it is a cute idea though and if it had people.. I would probably buy it.

The Little Czech Oracle is a consideration. I haven't heard of it before and it looks pretty cute. I will have to do more checking into it. It looks like a lovely deck.

Thanks again for all of your help! I will probably end up with several new oracle AND tarot decks before it is all over with!
