As a PS to my last post...I received recently Klea's Les Lettre Nombres and Au Fil D'Arcane (which I find especially interesting as I browse through it) ,Darche's Manuel Pratique du Tarot and Sedillot's Ombres et Lumieres du Tarot...so that will be some of my vacation time reading...re above as well..I also checked out the links and printed out some discussions....thanks all.

Wish they were in English...but I'll plug through...most of it I can read...

Alchemical colours

tmgrl ... Black, White and Red indicate certain colour-coded stages in the alchemical work referred to as nigredo (blackness), albedo (whiteness) and rubedo (redness).

In Latin alchemy, there were traditionally three named colour stages. (Presumably there would be all sorts of intermediate colours throughout the work.)

In Greek alchemy, there was traditionally also Yellowness (citronitas), after Whiteness and before Redness.
