Object in death Card

Sorry if this had been asked before but I was unable to find a thread on it.
I have noticed after many years there is an arrow on the back of the skeletons foot pointing up the hill, which is very pronounced after you discover it. Does this have a meaning or is it one of Pamela's quirks?
Any ideas?

Yes, there are a great many hidden surprises in this deck! I believe it is supposed to be a spur, but it also doubles as an arrow which appears to be pointing to the mouth of a cave just up the hillside. This may be an allusion to the Alchemical dictum: Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem (Visit the interior of the earth and rectifying you will find the hidden stone).

Hmm I noticed that as well,,I always thought it might not be a spur but indeed and arrow,,maybe pointing to a certain location.
