The Llewellyn Tarot

MysticMoonlight

From what I see on the internet, this is a gorgeous deck. I have it on my wish list and I find myself "stalking" it online quite often. I haven't noticed many people discussing it so I was just wondering if any of you have it, how do you feel about/toward this deck? Feel free, if you wish, to share details.

Thanks for any responses and if there is a discussion area already here regarding this deck, I apologize for missing it.

I received this deck some years as a birthday present. It wasn't on my wishlist at the time, my husband just saw it while looking around on Amazon and though I may enjoy it. I haven't had the chance to work with it yet though sadly as other decks have come in and taken up my time. I still have it though and hope to get around to working with it a bit.

Thank you very much, Glass Owl.

I like this deck and I still use it. I think 'The hermit' from this pack is my favourite Hermit card ever. I enjoy the looser watercolour feel of the minor arcana as I feel it adds a dreamy aspect to this deck. I think I prefer these earlier Welsh tales to the later more complicated Arthurian stories.

Here is some suggested music to put on whilst enjoying this beautiful Tarot pack:

A deck worth buying, by all means. The size makes it easy to handle, the paintings are very soft and welcoming and, if you are a "cutter" it looks great when clipped :D I use it often when I need a deck that can deliver messages in a soft, tactful way. It reads really well and easy. Besides, it's being sold by a very reasonable price ...

Do you have a PM box ? I could suggest some places/sites where you could get an idea of this deck in use

Aw, thank you so much, Freddie. How lovely of you :) Yes, the use of watercolor and the dreamy aspect just seems to pull me right in. This deck wants to be my next purchase very BADLY! :D

It has this way of making me feel "flowy" when I see its images. Like a dream that you don't want to wake from. Soft and mysterious...I really love that.

Hmm, I don't recall if I turned on pm or not, I'll go check right now :)

Thanks so much!

Edit: Pm working, ana luisa :)

I still find myself quite drawn to the Minor Arcana in this deck as it is very nice to look at without being too regal. I also feel this deck has a very eclectic down to earth take on Druid/Witchcraft/Christian magic, which is more in line with my beliefs/practices and dislike of organized religions.

This deck is warm, thoughtful and not at all sugary like some in the same genre.

it's a very lovely deck.

The Major Arcana uses figures from Welsh myth, & luckily for me I'm quite familiar with those tales, but sometimes it seems a bit of a stretch...I'm thinking of Strength particularly. ....to link the stories to card illustration to "traditional" Major Arcana.

It helped me to see it a little like the Greenwood in that respect. The archetypes were more or less there, but not exactly the same. Understanding it was a slightly different approach helped enormously in using this deck to add to my understanding, rather than seeing it as a Rider waite clone (which the Minor Arcana are).

It's gorgeous though.

And, like the Greenwood, the system seems to work well enough. I think it would be a treasure for anyone who felt drawn to the Celtic Otherworld.

Very good points, Freddie. I agree, it has it's own way of doing things that works very well. I like it...I like it a lot! :)
