Snake + Dog, if I were reading these two cards to describe an acquaintance would be an intelligent, perhaps aloof woman who wears glasses (Snake governs eyes) who was a trustworthy loyal friend. It's all context. If it were a Fox + Dog I would worry.

Traditionally the Snake is an alternate card for a woman in a reading, like the Rider/Cavalier is for a man. In the old days when readers read for same sex couples the Snake was the Woman's partner while the Rider was the Man's.
