Well here comes my little bit of “inspirational thinking” about the hallo-les angel.
In iconography angels saints God(es)(s) are given halo’s to mark there difference in plane /saintety from the world around them and in this “next stage” all are becoming on the same level as the angel therefore erasing the difference all are on his level an within his/her/its halo

even when costing some deads? having re-birth as overcome?
like the goal and promess of the suicide terrorists?
Die fighting and be a heroe in the "other life"?

Well, let's see...blue could be emotions, or spirituality, and since there is so much blue, perhaps the angel is calling them up out of the mire of the physical plane into a higher spiritual plane.
Red is...blood is red, apples are red...an apple a day keeps the doctor away....life is red (the red cross both on the card and in the world), passion is red.
