I also apologize for vanishing without a word... but I've recently decided to stop painting tarot cards for the time being. Creating tarot cards put me in touch with my creative side and I loved it. But I now feel the set format of tarot is hindering my artistic development somewhat. I will try to create paintings without overthinking symbolism. Hopefully I will someday return to tarot with fresh vigour and inspiration.
I thank all of you kind and loving people! Your wonderful response to my cards has been very inspiring and I hope you will all be here when my creative journey brings me back to creating tarot.

Lots of Love
Temperlyne

I understand the feeling. I, too, have experienced the same thing. Although I have a painting of the Star which is grinding along slowly, the main thing I am working on is a huge, huge painting that is non-tarot. I am finding it difficult to get my head out of 'symbolism-thinking' ... everything I visualise ends up with tarot images embedded in it. So I agree wholeheartedly that deck creation can hinder artistic development and make us stale.

We will both rediscover that creative spark and development ... one day. Bless you my dear ... you have a talent that is truly extraordinary so do what you need to in order to fan the flame. You are a true artist ... a truly creative soul ... you will not loose that ... it might go into hiding occasionally, but it just awaits a chance to flame upwards.

you have my love

Nooooooooooooo! Gasp!
You can't stop!!!

well, Ok...I suppose you can! :D I'm just being selfish...as this is one of my all time favorite decks in progress!

The new Star really is lovely!

Good luck and and Blessings to you, on your artists journey, Temperlyne!

I will be here, waiting patiently when and if you decide to return to tarot(I do hope you do someday! I really love your work so much!)

I would like to voice my sentiments as well about you stopping. I agree with Chronata, but I also understand and accept your decision. I just think your art is absolutely gorgeous and I was hoping to one day have a majors only deck by your hand. And maybe I still will, some day.

Good luck with your art. I would sure like to see what else you create. Will you be posting this on your devian account? Good luck!

Well, your Tarot will be worth waiting for, however long the wait! In the meantime I look forward to seeing what new creations emerge from your talented soul.

Blessings,

Em xx

Hello Temperlyne,
I for one am happy for you that you've been able to use this card creation process as a way of tapping into your creative abilities! And now you have other ideas to try and that is so very exciting....I can't wait to see the wonderful creations you'll be posting on the web (please...you will share them, right?)

Sure, I do wish I could have a finished copy of the Temperlyne Tarot someday, but the more important thing is that you've moved forward with your art. And you are a true artist....all the best of luck in your future efforts!

Warmest regards,
MrsOnePotato

Thank you so much for your kind support everybody!
I'm still hoping that one day my deck will be finished and a majors only should be possible at least. But not now....
In the last week I've allready created 3 "free" paintings, with my tarot it took me at least a month each! I hope it is ok if I share'd them here, just to let you see what kind of creative experiments I abandoned my deck for.

Both the cat and the swan pictures show how much you think of animals. They are as beautiful in their form as they are in their expression. The females are too. It's great to see someone pursuing their gifts and sharing them like you are Temperlyne, whether inside or outside the guidelines of tarot.

I am in awe Temperlyne. Your work takes my breath away ... literally, and brings tears to my eyes. I envy you your talent ... and bless you for it. Thank you for sharing my dear.

Incredible.

Just amazing new work!
I'm so glad you shared them with us!

Limbo especially really moves me, as do all your paintings (as you well know!)

Thanks for showing them!
