Timing spreads please — not will-happen but should-do

Hmmm, ok, I think I follow you -- plus there's the matter of what the 'story' might say in relation to the number 5 I would imagine. I'd hate to tell someone (or have it be me! :O) 'sorry, no sexy tiem for 5 years" lol Anyway I'm eager to try this method because other than designating the suits for time-frames, I have yet to really hammer down predictions of 'when' -- perhaps owing to temporal flux!

No actually, he will not have completely decided that's the best idea... it's more on a whim and hoping for the best- hence the happy dance at the end of your throw.

Hmm, okay, sounds good, is this "whim" based on the combo of Knights and The Lovers? The Lovers kind of throws me off when it comes to hoping for the best, I would think that would be the Fool.

Scored with the romantic gesture, yes. :D The Knight of Wands falls on the end of the spread, and when a card falls on the end of a spread it sometimes indicates to me that the "goal" found in the meaning of the card has been achieved. The goal of the Knight of Wands is to escape from a difficult situation into a better one. It shows how difficult it was for X to make the gesture, but since you will be receptive, he will be happy he took the risk and came out pretty good.

Haha, well I'm happy he will take the chance!

No, the Lovers/Knight of Pentacles show him feeling divided on how best to proceed. The Knight of Cups is the one going out on a whim with high hopes and taking the chance.

Ah! Now I get it. Thank you so much!

So, I'm excited about this timing method and thought i'd try it again with another question.

When should I quit my job and move on to something else?

Hierophant/6 Swords/ Justice/ 2 Pents/The World

I see that I'm seeking some guidance in this situation and wondering what's the best way to proceed. I also see this as a "practice what you preach" card and when I have been asked for advice, I have always told my friends to follow their instincts and be an example of living freely. This could be the case for me here with the Hierophant, I'm literally going to practice what I preach.

For me the timing card is the 6/Swords. I don't resonate with the 2/Pents and that's not a realistic outcome for me. I cannot imagine staying for 2 more years in the environment I'm in. So the 6/Swords is appropriate in timing AND how I'm moving towards safety. I'm also thinking that the Hierophant might be connected to getting me to safety, via their advice or other measures.

Question: In determining the timing, is it WITHIN the time frame or AT the time frame? Just wondering ways i could look at the spread.

Now Justice. I'm moving away towards the right thing. I'm balancing things out in my life and doing the "right" things for me. I'm also getting the feeling that I will be getting what I deserve in this card after all the struggle.

Again, the balancing of my new life after leaving with the 2/Pents. I'm wondering if the balancing act will take 2 years before I get settled into My "World". But I look content and in control of the balancing act. It look like it's not a struggle for me. Maybe this could relate to future opportunities down the road that I have taken up (possibly handed to me by the Justice card)? Is that a possible way of seeing beyond the initial timeline?

The spread ends with The World which could be the end of the World I left, or the entry into the World I wanted through the avenues of Justice. I must admit, I love getting this card at the end. It definitely represents what I'm shooting for!

What do you guys think?

So, I'm excited about this timing method and thought i'd try it again with another question.

When should I quit my job and move on to something else?

Hierophant/6 Swords/ Justice/ 2 Pents/The World

They're not telling you exactly when you should but the cards are giving you a window where the opportunity would be greatest for you, and you picked up on the 6 months with the 6 of Swords, but I would hesitate with that one just a little bit because it's closer to the beginning of the spread so it might be showing more of what you expect.... Justice in the middle of the spread is a good card for making a decision and breaking contracts and it comes between the 6 and 2 so I would say somewhere between 6 months and 2 years from now... also because it's a little hard to move on from the Hierophant sometimes (think of the Amish for example- if you leave the community and their way of life, you aren't getting back in). So I would say that you can expect to be there for at least another 6 months, but that doesn't suggest to me that you will leave immediately after that 6 months has come upon you. I can actually shorten it down on the 2 of Pentacles also because of Justice (I still consider elements sometimes) - 2 years from now would be August 25, 2014. But it seems to me that Justice would suggest that you would make a decision before that 2 years occurred. So when? The 2 of Pentacles also represents Dec. 22 - Dec. 30, so go back from Aug. 2014 to December 2013. So the greatest possibility of when you should leave your job and move on to something else for the best is between 6 months from now (February 2013) and December 2013 - you will make your decision (Justice) between those two time-frames. I have a feeling it's not a matter of yes/no I will leave my job but, yes I will leave my job for... what? That is the decision you will have to make, what you are leaving your job for. And that might be why there is such a huge gap there, to allow you more time to gather more information about what you are going to do before proceeding with quitting your job. I agree with what you say about the World there, it is wrapping it up nicely on the end there for you and reaffirms that you will conclude with your present job on good terms and move on to something else.

Would you approach the readings this way if there is a wide gap in the timeframe? Upon thinking about my situation i realize that while i'd like and hope to leave within 6 months, realistically it's not a smart move to make unless some kind of miracle occurs. And yes, with Justice smack in the middle it's definitely a decision that needs to be weighed carefully. i know where i want to go, but how am i going to get there is what's going to be taken cared of during the time span.

I have to start researching the elements and corresponding time frames associated with each card in order to get a more complete picture on spreads such as these. Thank you again for your insight!

Essentially, what I do is follow the trail within the cards. That's what it feels like to me. The gap lets me know that there may be other factors that could come in to play outside of the question that is being asked, but which could (in your example) change how slow or quick you make your decision on how best to proceed. Your cards do show you moving on, but to what and/or how? That is what you are left with to figure out from this reading on your own (more likely the 'how' part, since you mention that you have already decided to leave your present job and you do know where you want to go). And now, this also shows you your next possible question, if you feel so inclined: "How do I get where I want to go as quickly as possible?" or "What can I do right now to start the process with getting to that place?" -You could possibly even get away with asking, "What is it that would keep me at my job for the next 6 months?" I do keep the supertarot site handy for the specific correlations (like 2 of Pentacles is Dec. 22 - Dec. 30) but they don't always come up... I noticed that they do seem to come up more when people ask "should" questions, and getting a window with 2 time-frames also seems to come up more frequently on "should" questions. So far, that seems (to me) as far as tarot may be willing to go without interferring with one's free will and choices.

Thank you! I do love how this spread tells a pretty linear story, like a timeline, and points out what to look for and like you said, it can lead you to probe further by asking questions that add more to the picture. It's interesting to see how two time frames come up on the "should" questions while the "when" usually presents a clear cut sign that taps your intuition to choose one card over the other.

I don't know about this super tarot site, I have to go check it out. I'll keep practicing with more simpler questions about non essentials in order to understand the flow of this.

when will i hear from x again

moon----pent Ace-----ace of SW-----the world ----ace of W

kind of weird answer:D I have a feeling here that the answer is the ace of W, for 'the world' is for something new to begin then followed by this wands Ace. Though the Ace of Sw could be the first contact( next week?) and the Ace of w the first initiation, or wil it be somewhere in between as the moon is not quite clear??

what do you guys think?
i was personally thinking that the first contact will be next week or month and i will go and see x a day later

this has not played out ( yet). I wonder now whether moon--//-- Ace of Wands is now pointing to an initiation which is not clear. I have a feeling that the answer lies somewhere in the middle of the spread like, I feel that now the answer is":
there first must be a potential for a contact before you will hear from X"

maybe i did not phrase the Q correct, i wonder now :D, and that for me the answer was too obvious for me to see.

What do you guys think?
