Cold Case: Missing Female Teen Illinois 1996.

Empress Arwen got her body being in water.

Dont know the area, but if in winter and freezing cold weather am wondering if it would have been easy to find a place that wasn't iced over.

At the end of January in northern Illinois everything was most certainly frozen over. In fact I looked up the weather for Jan. 31, 1996 and it was exceptionally cold, similar to our recent polar vortex.

Before I go further I have started to research to see what fits ~ pointless if nothing resonates. Also, I wish I had not read what the step dad said plus the fact that the missing bedroom articles bothered me so.

Anyways, found some very interesting info and think a lot did come through even in the images of the blank paper ball!

Found out where she lived as in the street and a lot of water, woods, park areas surrounded her home or neighborhood as well as plenty of cemeteries within driving distance. One is even an ANIMAL CEMETERY about 20 mins by car I think.

There is a No 7 on the map too that goes around her area connected to a canal (I think) and goes through an area Oatland or Oakland (think that is right )which has or is near Water, a Park or a Reserve and a cemetery...or more.

Will look again when not tired...

WOW, DND! I am so glad you discovered this information. It's so important to be able to make connections and tie things together, wherever possible. It's always good to get confirmation...helps us see if we're on the right track.

I agree that most everything would be frozen. I was thinking though that soil near water sources is oftn softer than other areas even if frozen...he could have buried here near a water source, an area that is covered in water during warmer weather.

DND...that is amazing about the animal cemetery. I haven't seen much in my research about where the police looked. Have you?

Just looked at the map again...

No 7 is Michigan & Illinois canal near where she lived, so in the surrounding area and seems to go from Lockport (even beyond) through to Orland Park and Palos Hills. Not what I first thought. Oak something.....

But still lots of woods, water, reserves and cemeteries in or near etc.

In regards to "POP" all I can find so far is that the very last phone conversation she had with her dad included her saying more or less that she had evolved from Pop music to Alanis Morrisette.

Big into Pop music until a month or so before going missing it seems.

Not sure yet if it is connected in another way or not.

1) Rachel more than likely disappeared before the afternoon - so in the morning.

Not confirmed, but there was a phone call she made that was highly unusual for her to make -to her grandmother after 10 am. And then the first child came home 3pm or 3 30pm. So, there is a window there.

2) She may have suffered head injuries.

Not confirmed.

3) She probably wanted more freedom and may have had to defend herself from sexual "advances" made on her.

Read somewhere that she did want more freedom and not to stay at home (1995) ...something like that.

She did write about her step dad touching her inappropriately in a diary.

But I wonder if it was happening more and more and that on the day she went missing this was something she was trying to fight off. (Not confirmed).

4) She was likely targeted and is no longer a part of the physical plane.

Not confirmed, but 18 years is a long time to be missing. So, the likelihood of her being alive is very slim.

5) She was in the 7th Grade. Wrote on August the 7th for the first time in her diary about her step-dad touching her.

7th Grade, 7th of August was the first entry of "touching", and there is a No 7 on the map of a "Michigan and Illinois Canal" that goes through a number of areas near her address.

6) She may have been hurt around the age of 3. An arm injury. And there is the possibility that she may have been abused from a young child on although I am not sure if it was by her mum. (Covering it up kind of thing maybe). Also, I'd like to think it wasn't the case.

Reports of Domestic Violence was called in to the police a few years before she went missing that involved Rachel being hurt and her mother as well by the step dad.

As for going back further than that - nothing to confirm it yet, but seems possible.

7) I feel she was murdered not a runaway or abducted.

Not confirmed as still no body.

8) She may have felt like an outsider due to the conversation overheard in my 2nd dream, also, I do think there is more than one person that knows, but it could be just the knowledge of it or covering it up.

I think Rachel was kind of on her own in a way.

And with the history of Domestic Violence by the step dad "pre" and "post" Rachel's disappearance her mother may likely be a victim of "battered womens syndrome". Therefore, in denial or covering a lot up although not as a willing participant.

Reminds me a bit of of the "Lisa Steinberg" case.

9) She was in danger and likely from someone "masculine".

Not confirmed, but I still wonder if her step dad.

10) There was no intruder or someone coming through an unlocked door. Whoever was responsible for her disappearance was already in the home. And with the "blackout" I experienced as I turned my head towards the bedroom in the 3rd dream - I think again a head injury was done to her.

Not confirmed. Only she knows what really happened and/or the person(s) involved.

11) She may have liked animals with the animal theme.

Did see her with a ginger colored cat (I think) in one photo and holding a carousal horse in another. Flames sighted the horse picture first.

So, there is a possibility she liked animals.

12) She may have smiled on the outside, but was not on the inside.

Read a poem written by her best friend that kind of touched on this - as in she didn't know what was going on inside of Rachel as in the "sadness".

Therefore, I do not think Rachel let a lot know the truth of what was going on in her home or her real feelings.

13) She was into the holidays like Halloween.

Not sure about Halloween, but a video clip shows her enjoying a BIRTHDAY PARTY not long before she went missing. So, there is a possibility she liked all the fun festive stuff.

Also, October was her birthday month.

Rachel being like a third wheel or on the outside. With her mum she didn't trust the decision making and there was trouble/conflict between her mum and step dad...even all 3. Her mum likely let him have the last word and put him first - so the dynamics affected the relationship she had with her mother. In addition, I would say there was definitely abuse and a dysfunctional home life etc.

I think Rachel felt isolated and was pretty much on her own on the most part with what was going on in her family life. There are reports of Domestic Violence "before" and "after" she went missing, so she did come from a dysfunctional home life and that likely compromised the relationship she had with her mum to some extent.

And with the Tarot:

Looks like it was not a stranger or an abduction, but that she was possibly killed close to home or in it. Also, that she enjoyed her friends and was likely making plans and was feeling restless being at home. She held a strong view of the person responsible - so likely someone she knew well.

She did have lots of friends and some very best of friends from what I have read and one of her best female friends still remains active in finding her. So, friendships meant something to her for sure. And her to them it seems.

Anyways, seems her step dad was in and out of jobs when Rachel disappeared and on the day she went missing he may have actually been "unemployed". And the two reversed Pentacle court cards can stand for that in meaning, but I'm kind of thinking the Queen more so.

But no body, no evidence, no conviction.

Therefore, nothing about from when she went missing can really be confirmed.

That's fascinating. I just looked her up. She spells her name without the hyphen. Last activity date on the forum was on Aug. 15/14. Maybe it would be good to see what she thinks...Interesting.
