Cheap Decks you just have to have!

And a magician with a hamburger and/or dentures :D This is such a fun thread

Well - the Magician has his 'magic two-ended wand' in his hand so that doesn't count. The multicolored circles must be Coins, the chalice is the Cups, the athame is the Swords, so the hamburger or the dentures are the ... ?

And the smoke rising out of the chalice is from ... ? :bugeyed:

The 'Ace of Kosher Dills' is really kind of funny!

Does the Magician have a set of dentures on his table? Or a hamburger? LOL!!!

I think the Wishcraft company also has a rubber hand to learn how to read palms - also with some kind of 'gimmick' for aspiring Miss Cleos!
I read "rubber band" and was confused...

But all the naughty sperm would run the other way. It has something going for it actually...

Fair point - and also the designed-in spermicide: they wouldn't survive the cuts. :D

Truth-seeker's Tarot aka Pathfinder's Tarot ? (I never saw it as Traveller's !)
Yes, that's it. Why did I call it the Traveller's Tarot? I knew it began with a "T" The Traveller's Tarot is that mini blue box RWS.

Call me a snob, I don't care, but if someone bought a deck because it was cheap that doesn't count. There's no tarot desire there, just a desire for a bargain. Quite different.

Well, I bought the Nova purely because it was cheap (and I was a beginner then). And was quite surprised to find its images are meaningful and have their own intelligence, and it's very readable. That counts, doesn't it? As opposed to buying because you want it, and then being disillusioned and hating a deck. This thread's about cheap decks which are great, isn't it? :)

I had a very similar experience with the Nova. Was checking out at a local book store, saw the neat little box and the word tarot, saw the price and said, "I'll also take one of those". I wasn't terribly impressed with how the entire deck was stuck together in a big clump, but once I started using it, I was surprised at how well the thing reads! I found that the black background acts almost like a scrying mirror. Very cool little deck and I just adore the box, it is perfect for popping into a bag, and no worries at all about damaging the cards.

Yep, it's nothing if not sturdy. I'd forgotten about it being stuck together! Like a new book with the page edges almost not separated. Which didn't matter at all.

I love the Nova LPB (little purple book :joke:)
You can't beat advice like "Kill others with kindness and let them suffer the consequences of their actions."

Emily

I have one but I can't remember the name of it. It is a RWS but made with photo's of people. It is badly done but it has such a happy vibe going on with it. The people look like they've gone through the dressing up box for the costumes but some seem to have really thrown themselves into the essence of the card. It also comes with a DVD and a book. I got it from a bargain discount bookshop.

Charmed Deck - a Self Published hand drawn deck from the UK depicted characters from the Charmed series. I think they were $5.00 each - so I splashed out and bought 2 (as you do). :)
