Pros and Cons Thread #2 - Enabling and De-Enabling

Madrigal

Two Decks being considered

Tarot of the Sidhe and World Spirit. Detractors and supporters I'm all ears :D

Hard to choose (that was helpful, wasn't it?)

Different style (WS is carved out of lino) - but both are colorful. Sidhe seems more complex to me and a little busier. I like both. WS might read a little easier. I'd go with which style you prefer.

ETA I am a supporter of both :)

Thanks, rylla. It was actually helpful to hear that you like both. I love lino cut drawings, am a big fan of the work of nikki mcclure (and wish she would make a Tarot deck) so the World Spirit deck is a real draw for me.

Tarot of the Sidhe is one of those decks I passed over almost as soon as I saw it despite all the fervor around it. Now months later it is suddenly calling to me and I'm really liking what I see.

Waking the Wild Spirit

Could anyone enable or de-enable me regarding Waking the Wild Spirit tarot? I enjoy "pagan" and "nature" decks, but I already have: Wildwood, Druidcraft, Greenwood, and Hidden Realm. So is Waking the Wild Spirit a "must have", or is it a deck I can do without? Thanks in advance for your opinions!

How about some enabling or de-enabling thoughts on the Animal Wisdom Tarot?
It seems gorgeous and I love how the book looks too!

I went with the Tarot of the Sidhe and am very happy with it. Now I'm trying to find an Oracle to pair it up with.

I think you need the Waking the Wild Spirit. It will round out your pagan/nature sub-collection nicely! :D Given the other decks you have, I'm sure you'd love it. I certainly do! And I know many others here are big fans too. Just the card backs alone are utterly gorgeous! I find it to be a no nonsense deck, much like the Tarot of the Sidhe, and I often use the two decks together :)

There's also the lovely but sadly OOP Tarocchi Celtici by Laura Tuan.

(Never enable about just one deck when you can enable about three! :D )

I really really like it, apart from her take on The Lovers (Soul Mates in this deck, if i remember) card which is, unfortunately IMO, more about co-dependency than love...

I love her blend of magic and nature, there are sooo many stunning cards in this deck.

It is quite different from the other decks that you have. I agree with journeyinghome, i think you do *need* it ;)
