Boyfriend burned my tarot card!!

earthair

My boyfriend and I fought badly this weekend and he took the devil card from my deck and burnt it.

I have to ask, as I dreamt about this night- how exactly did he do it? Hold it upsidedown and set fire to the lower corner with a cigarette lighter?

I should think you are in shock.

When you can get peaceful enough to hear your own inner self, review the possibilities, and you'll find it easy to rule some out immediately, they'll feel not quite right. I expect you'll find you do know what to do. But if you aren't sure, just do something, I mean anything - very soon you'll get a sense it's not what you should have chosen - or a sense that it is.

You're the best person to ask, you see. Better than handing the decision to us lot ;) or to an instruction book or anywhere else. Something will make you feel comfortable, comforted, and "ok".

One part of the Devil's message is about control... this guy surely is a control freak to some degree... just a thought.

Many people who know nothing about tarot think there's a connection with black magic, or something anti-Christian. He may have been wary of the cards in that way. But the fact he did this in temper says his intention wasn't to protect you (however misguided) but to exert his own power and enforce his own rules. :( It wasn't his place to take the decision out of your hands. And force never changes anyone's mind anyway.

Earthair! How can you expect gb1705 to relive that, without a doubt, most traumatic experience in such graphic detail - without even a professional psychotherapist holding her hand?! :bugeyed:

What if she breaks down sobbing?!

How he did it

He sent a picture of the card as it was burning on the bottom, right corner. He had the pictures while at a hot and did it to hurt me or to prove a point. It was done out of spite to hurt me and it will never happen again. What a dip!!

He sent a picture of the devil card with it on fire on the right, bottom corner. He had taken it a hotel and then done this and sent it to me later on when I was asleep. I won't cry over it. It was mean in spiteful and it hurt because he knew how much I invested in the deck.

That's why I think you shouldn't let him "win", and simply replace the missing card, if you can live with it.

However, more important than what you do is how you feel about it.

Man, sorry to hear about your deck that you cherished. Do you know exactly why he did that? Hes not worth gum on a sidewalk if he treats you or your things this way. Glad you broke up. Id get a new deck. Some tarots have a privacy feel to them fron their owner and once its touched with ill intent then i wouldnt want it. Its not nessasary of course to buy another but i think youd be better to use something that hasent been tainted. Better for you mentally especially since your new to tarot.

I'm sorry to hear that someone violated your boundaries so spitefully. imo - He's a pathetic, cold, nasty, & calculating personality who could possibly cause more damage & havoc for you the longer you were in a relationship with him. If he was like this with a card from a deck you held as special - I can only imagine what he could be like with other items & people you hold precious. Don't let him play mind games - block him & move forward - he's not worth the effort! These things always come back around to the perpetrator sooner or later.

Perhaps wrap the deck up & put it away somewhere - at the back of a closet maybe, & thank it for giving you a forewarning of his deeper personality - he did pull the devil after all... }) & then used it as a tool to control & wound. One day the deck may change in significance for you & could find a different usage for it - it's not the deck at issue - it's your toxic ex who has the serious issues ;)

For now, get yourself a different deck as an impetus to continue your studies :)

Oh dear ! What a complete idiot ! He tries to psyche someone out with his homebrand black magic / witchcraft and includes his fingerprints in the picture ! ? ! ? :bugeyed:
