Tabula Mundi Tarot Colores Arcus

Alta

I am blown away with these cards, I just cannot stop handling and going through the deck over and over.... and seeing something new each time. And to think that I worried that I had built up the deck too much in mind ahead of time and might be disappointed.

Yes, this. That's why I was surprised it's exceeded my expectations. I'm reading Book M this morning, with minors and related trumps set out before me, and I keep having aha! moments, relationships that hadn't yet occurred to me while reading with the Thoth (my lapse, not the Thoth's), but that are illustrated on TM as both meaning and mnemonic. I am a very happy camper.

How do people feel about the card stock? The images are stunning but I am finding that the cards are a bit difficult to shuffle or flip through because they stick together. They don't rub against one another as smoothly as the Rosetta card stock, for example.

They'll loosen up. The Nox et Lux took a little time but I've found that the Colores Arcus takes less time. I'm being super careful with the Babalon though. Just lay the out and let the air get at them.

If it bothers you try shaking them in a bag with some Zinc Sterate (card fanning powder), DON'T use talcum powder or other powders. Pure ZS is available from most pharmacies and card fanning powder is available from most 'magic' shops, or online, but check the ingredients; the main ingredient should be ZS.

Just checked my tracking email and mine has made it through customs and is waiting for the post office to drop a card through the door with the Customs charges I will need to pay. Post man hasn't been today, so fingers crossed I get the card today and can pay it online this afternoon!!! :D

I've put money to one side to cover the charges as I ordered the coloured and B&W version, as I wasn't able to get it back when it first came out. I don't care though, I just want my decks now! I'm 3 days from my due date to give birth, so I'm hoping the excitement when I get my hands on it puts me into labour!!!

Was the Babalon edition only available to Kickstarter backers? I can't find it on the website

Thanks very much! I will look for some Zinc Sterate :)

My deck arrived today. I can't remember ever feeling anything like the level of excitement when opening a tarot parcel, and I'm always excited when I get a new deck. But this was really a special experience. The extra cards - the wonderful key with zodiac signs, planet sigils and elements - in those beautiful colours. The Tree of Life. And my extra major - wonderful Lust.

I have a special relationship with the Thoth Lust. It's the one card that played an important role in my first reading in 1983, when a friend did a wonderful reading for me. I looked for this card, bought a tarot book (Spiritual Tarot) where I didn't find it, and bought a deck by instinct - the Thoth. And there I found her and then my tarot journey really began.

So I greeted this card with a special feeling.

The decans cards - the box - the lining - the booklet - the pdfs - everything of such high quality. The attention to detail is simply breathtaking.

I think Aleister Crowley himself would have been impressed. The visual solutions for the very complex cards are perfect. A high level of artistry, tarot scholarship and inspiration.

I find the court cards especially impressive. The way that she evokes the decans is simply masterful.

This deck is pure joy. There is so much to discover. I have a synesthetic streak that hits me sometimes - and I hear music when I see these cards. It reminds me of the music that I hear when I look at the Pleiades through binoculars.

It's my first Kickstarter and it was the most positive experience imagineable. Somehow I'm sure that the tarot community will remember the way this deck came into the world, the excitement it generated, the huge expectations - and how it more than fulfilled its promise.

This deck is nobody's clone. It flies like an arrow straight into the heart of tarot.

Sorry for the lyricisms but this is really a special deck.
