Mystery deck - can anybody identify this?

rose_alba

Hi everybody,
I only recently joined Aeclectic while researching decks for my small, newborn collection, and what better place to find help identifying a mystery deck?
I am really curious about the 3 cards you can see here:

http://www.eventiesagre.it/Eventi_Cena+Spettacolo/21043887_I+Tarocchi.html

It's a page for an old theatre event loosely connected to tarots (it came up in a Google search) and there is no caption for the image.
I showed the picture to my local tarot authority, Osvaldo Menegazzi, and he's not familiar with these cards, so - not a historical deck, I guess. But an Italian deck it is (of course it could be tarot inspired art and not a published deck).

Looking forward to your suggestions,
Greetings from Milano

Interesting that The Sun card is three sets of buttocks! :)

Beautiful tarot art! Welcome to Aeclectic, rose_alba.

I found the same image on this page: http://www.museodeitarocchi.net/Carte48.htm

And from there found that it seems to be called Tarocchi da Giulio Romano, artist is Joseph Billoni. It's a majors-only deck. Quite beautiful! Thank you for sharing your find...

Here is another link with some information: http://www.tarotpassages.com/guilio.htm

Thank you Laura! So it's an actual deck from 1989, you can see all 22 cards on the artist's website:

I was attracted by the prettier images, but the muscle/Herculean aspect is a bit too much for me šŸ˜ƒ

OK so what are you implying here, the sun shines out.........

It's interesting that the Sun and Moon are both chariot cards (who drove the Sun chariot across the sky in mythology?) and that you 'see' the Moon as 'rising' as it approaches you, but the Sun chariot has passed overhead and is beginning it's descent....

Actually, I find that aspect very attractive ...

Limited Edition of 3,000 copies according to Tarot Garden.

I wonder if Alidastore has one - or it's selling price?

Nothing on Alidastore, not even the artist's name.
