darksoul,

Do you have specific questions? Or would you like to know how to get in touch with Wiccans that may be in your area? From my understanding, many covens are rather quiet about their activities, but there are groups who are more public than others.

Hopefully, somebody with more information will jump in and help you find sources of information.

I am not of Wiccan bent, so am not much help in that regard.

hi there ...

do you mean the specific wiccan religion, or witchcraft as it is often practiced by wiccans? here's a nice overview

http://wicca.com/celtic/wicca/faq.htm

i don't identify as wiccan; i'm one of those weird eclectic buddhist-christian pagans :) however, if you're looking for specific sites, or books that might be useful to read, i probably have a few suggestions.

is there anything specific you're feeling drawn to?

Wicca dates from the 1950's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardnerian_Wicca
the tradition was founded by Gerald Gardner in his book or books.

Perhaps you are more thinking along the lines of hedgewitchery
which is more solitary and nature based?

I really wonder what you mean by Wicca darksoul... It's just that a lot of people think Wicca are things that it's not and confuse it with Paganism, because Wicca is the term they most often see or hear about. Paganism is an umbrella that contains a lot of Pagan faith like Wicca. A good example would be to compare it to something else: Paganism is like Christianity and Wicca like Catholicism. In other words, all Wiccans are Pagans but not all Pagans are Wiccans. Wicca is a pagan religion created by Gerald Gardner in the 20th century.

greatdane

AJ you seem really knowledgeable about this

And great thread, Darksoul! I knew Wicca was relatively young, but wondering if hedgewitchery kind of comes from the same place and time and just is a branch of Wicca? I know very little about either.
