Reading Cloths for the Season upon Us

I am so impressed with everyone's creativitity and skills! :) Very inspiring. What a fun thread.

I like to dye silks so I use them to wrap my decks in, and lay out for readings. But I have a black suede hide on my table (just because I had it) and I lay the silk over that.

I can sew on a button, fix a small tear, beyond that, where's the stapler?

Actually, one could use a stapler on some of those braided trims. But the project would take an awful lot of staples. :)

I mentioned earlier that I typically use a 17", usually silver, square silk for my 3 to 5 card readings (often over a much larger black silk), but for the many times I'm outside in the forest, this just isn't a great idea for the silk. Rooting around looking for something else, I found a BIG piece of chamois that I'd all but forgotten about - what a perfect base for playing around outdoors :).

I can wrap my deck (already in a silk sleeper), the small silk square, and a small incense burner altogether in the chamois, tie it closed with a leather cord, and shove it in my coat pocket or tackle bag. Too convenient - and goes so well with The Wild Unknown that is my foraging "travel companion". Wished I'd thought of it earlier !

These are lovely! I actually have one in the Gold color waiting for me to work on it. They look so soft and flowing!

Thank you @Margo and @Disa! I prefer solid colors over prints or patterns. And the satin just makes the cards POP!

Morwenna

I like those! The colors complement that deck beautifully.
