2 of cups, 3 of cups, The Empress

Vejl

Hello everyone,
I am very new on this forum and already have a question :)) Ah also I am very new in tarot, so please be gentle on me ;)
Few days ago i was checking the cards, love spread, with regards to the guy with whom things fell apart in not very nice way. I just wanted to check if in future there is a chance for us to reunite on much better basis.

me: Three of wands, Eight of Swords, Death
him: Two of cups, Three of cups, The Empress
outcome: Ace of swords

I am very confused since cards on my side show that there is the end, but on his side there is love, celebration, even victory/celebration as outcome.. Does that mean that those cups on his side are for someone else? I am little worried about 3s in the spread..

Many thanks in advance for your opinion ;)

Good day,

Many thanks ;)
Please note that i am using The Sharman Caselli deck.
I haven't commented each card on my side as Death told me all. 3 of wands are my hopes, 8 of swords is the hopeless situation i think i am in. Death can denote end of relationship or end of my current state/situation.
I was more concerned of the cards on his side as they are very hopeful, since current situation is not nice at all. 2 of cups is unity, strong emotions, even making up. Together with 3 of cups happy days again. There is my confusion ;)) Is it with me, or someone else?
And if it is me, does the card say any frame of time?

Kind regards and many thanks in advance,
V

Hi Vejl,

Thank you but if you take a look at the posting rules that I linked to you'll see that we ask everyone to interpret each card as that really is the best way to learn.

Could you please add your thoughts on The Empress and the Ace of Swords?

Could everyone else please wait?

Hello, I am sorry about it. I will mention everything again so it is not confusing for anyone who would like to comment:

Please note that i am using The Sharman Caselli deck. Love spread with regards to the guy with whom things fell apart in not very nice way. I just wanted to check if in future there is a chance for us to reunite on much better basis.
me: Three of wands, Eight of Swords, Death
him: Two of cups, Three of cups, The Empress
outcome: Ace of swords

3 of wands are my hopes of relationship with him, but 8 of swords is the actual hopeless situation i think i am in. Death can denote end of relationship or end of my current state/situation.
I was more concerned of the cards on his side as they are very hopeful, since current situation is not nice at all. 2 of cups is unity, strong emotions, even making up. Together with 3 of cups happy days again. For the Empress - new beginning, smooth flow, right woman for him. I think i can identify myself with her. So basically all the cards on his side show lovely situation, which is not at the moment (we are not in touch now).
The Ace of swords as outcome could be victory/celebration, reunion.
Is it with me, or someone else, as i am little worried of the 3's?
And if it is me, does the card say any frame of time? Maybe there is really a chance for the things to change and for us to have a happy reunion..

I am again sorry for all the confusion.
Looking forward for your comments :)
Thanks in advance.

Hi Vejl,

I'm not familiar with this spread so don't know if the positions have meaning other than 3 cards are for you, 3 are for him and 1 is the outcome.. I'm going to read them like that, as a snapshot of where you both are now.

Just looking at these cards, it seems quite obvious that you and he are in completely different head spaces.

You - Three of wands, Eight of Swords, Death XIII
You're feeling trapped in a waiting game, waiting to see if anything is going to happen between the 2 of you again (3 Wands).. I feel as if you're trapped in your own head with this, thoughts going round and around so much that you're having trouble thinking of anything else (8 Swords).. Your thoughts are not balanced, it's stopping you from moving on. You're going over and over what happened.
It is over, it's difficult to accept that but it is. There is no coming back from Death. You need to grieve, put it behind you and get on with your life.
I think that is what he's doing.

Him - Two of cups, Three of cups, The Empress III
He's getting out there, making emotional connections with people, socialising, enjoying himself (2 Cups, 3 Cups, Empress III).
These cards could even mean that he's found someone new. Whether that's the case or not, he's not looking back.

Outcome - Ace of Swords
A cutting of ties.
I think this card advises you to try to look at this clearly and without too much input from your emotions. Was it really that good? Would it be any different if by some miracle you managed to get back together?
I think this card is saying, cut the ties that are holding you to this, think clearly and logically about this, stop being trapped in that 8 of Swords time, going over and over things and having that white noise in your head. Still your mind, really think how this was. Move on.

Sorry, I know that's not what you're wanting to hear but I'm not seeing any reconciliation in these cards.

Dear Sulis,

thank you so much for your time and opinion. You are so right! You exactly described my state of mind.. its scary how accurate. I am trapped in my head, and cannot stop thinking about it, and yes it is so hard to move on.

I also sensed that we are on completely different page, but i had hope, and the cards on his side were hopeful. Now when i am reading this, i see that you are so right about him too. It is even silly to think that his cards have anything to do with me. Cards have spoken again the real current situation.. spot on! I actually even knew myself that now is not the right time, so i guess i was using the wrong spread.

Outcome just blew my mind: 'Was it really that good? Would it be different?' I honestly don't think so.. Some serious changes have to be made for this to work properly. So yes, only logic can assist me now and moving on is the only solution! The Ace of Sword said it all, i was blind to see.

Thank you soooo much for this interpretation, it really opened my eyes!!
Since i am new in tarot, i was using this simple spread that friend recommended, but please kindly advise more suitable spread to have insight in possible future.

Many many thanks,
V

And thank you so much for that detailed feedback, I really appreciate it and I'm glad I could help you see this from a different perspective.

Vejl

you are welcome :0)

I was thinking about 2 Cups, 3 Cups, Empress III and would love to understand the link with moving on and not looking back.
Could you please elaborate, i would appreciate it ;) As i am very new in tarot everything tells me that this combination is celebration, engagement, even wedding..
Last night i wanted to have one more card to outcome, so i can understand it more, and i have got even more confused. It was Lovers. They also have the same meaning together with these three. It is moving on from 2 of cups to more intimate stage.. Or maybe it is moving on in general.

I would also love to hear different opinions on this, would be great to learn together ;)

Thanks,
V

Hi Vejl,

Those three cards together are about connecting with people and getting out there (3s are putting things out there cards and The Empress is also a 3 and a Major so the main 3 if you like).
None of those cards show sadness, regret, looking back. They all say that he's enjoying himself and connecting with others - the 2 of Cups is about making new, emotional connections or choices. It come very early on in the suit so it's not a card of commitment or lasting relationships but it says he is meeting people.

None of those cards looked like he was looking back or thinking of the relationship with you. The Empress and the 2 of Cups together could also be pointing to someone new in his life.

I'm not sure why you're pulling 'one more card for outcome' unless you're just pulling cards until they start to give you the message that you'd like to see (and that is what will happen if you keep pulling cards -eventually you'll get what you want but that doesn't mean it will happen). This reading was really clear. The outcome card advises you to think clearly about this, be logical, cut ties and move on to a new beginning. Sorry if that sounds harsh but you said yourself in your feedback that the relationship really wasn't all that and a new one with him wouldn't be any better.

I hope that helps a bit more.
